Morning Ritual!

Warm distilled water with freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon of maple syrup and 1/8 tsp Himalayan rock salt

Lemon juice helps in digestion by stimulating the secretion of bile by the liver. Bile breaks down fat and aids in its absorption by the small intestine. Lemon water is also known to reduce constipation, bloating, and heartburn. When consumed with warm water, lemon water also flushes out toxins from the digestive tracks and keeps infections at bay.

Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C, which helps strengthen the immune system and fight viral diseases. Lemon is acidic but displays alkaline properties within the body. The alkaline nature of lemon reduces the acidity of the body and balances the pH levels. And a balanced pH level of the body means a healthy gut. Lemon also detoxes and rejuvenates the body by flushing out the acidic toxins from the body.

Though acidic, apple cider vinegar promotes an alkaline environment inside your body. This is due to how ACV is broken down and digested. Many viruses and bacteria are unable to live in an alkaline environment. When you don’t have enough alkalinity, your body takes calcium in an attempt to become alkaline. This leaching of calcium can lead to loss of bone density and osteoporosis.

Maple syrup has various antioxidants, 24 to be precise, that help to protect you from many health conditions. Antioxidants are important for the body as they neutralize free radicals, which may cause various diseases.

In terms of minerals, it contains calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, potassium and zinc. Vitamins such as thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, and B6 are also found in this syrup.

Pink Himalayan sea salt can contain over 84 minerals and trace elements, including calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron, so it does more than just make your food taste better.

Studies show that 70 to 80% of the immune system is in the gut. So keep it healthy.
